The Fashion Styling & Image Design course at Pearl Academy is uniquely positioned to address the growing demand for styling professionals in a world fuelled by visual information. From fashion shoots, red carpet appearances and fashion shows to film television and advertisements, we access all information visually today. This course prepares students to understand, conceptualise and articulate this information using fresh ideas and relevant technological skills and platforms. The students are initially exposed to basic art and design elements for visualisation and self-expression. They move on to a more in-depth understanding of fashion, society and culture through a study of art and history. Finally they choose an area from the offered electives of Editorial and Commercial Styling, New Media Styling, Personal Styling or Visual Merchandising, to specialise in. The students are exposed to the industry through live projects, industry mentors, visiting faculty from the industry and through internships. This provides a bridge from the conceptual to the real and places them in a position to make informed decisions. Alumni from the course currently work as fashion and lifestyle bloggers, PR professionals, Fashion Stylists for magazine, Personal Stylists and costume stylists for film and TV.
